WhatsApp Calling is available with every Zoko subscription plan, making it easy for your team to make and receive voice calls with customers directly from Zoko. Each plan includes a monthly allocation of no-markup call minutes, so you can start using the feature without paying any additional Zoko markup for those included minutes.

I will explain how WhatsApp Calling pricing works, what's included in your plan, how Meta and Zoko charges are calculated and how to estimate your calling costs.

Your WhatsApp Calling cost consists of two separate charges:

1. Meta Calling Charges

Meta charges only for outbound WhatsApp calls initiated by your business. The rate depends on the country or region of the customer you're calling.

Incoming calls from customers are free and are not charged by Meta. Meta's calling charges are billed separately and apply regardless of your Zoko subscription plan.

2. Zoko Calling Charges

Every Zoko subscription includes a monthly allowance of no-markup call minutes.

While you're within the included minutes, Zoko does not charge any markup.

After you've used all the included minutes, Zoko charges a per-minute markup based on your subscription plan.

Included Call Minutes

Plan Included No-Markup Minutes Zoko Markup After Included Minutes
Starter 100 minutes USD 0.0035/min
Plus 250 minutes USD 0.0030/min
Elite 500 minutes USD 0.0025/min
Max 2,000 minutes USD 0.0020/min

Important: The included call minutes cover Zoko's charges only. Meta charges separately for every WhatsApp call.

How Your Total Calling Cost Is Calculated

Your total WhatsApp Calling cost is calculated as:

Total Cost = Meta Calling Charges + Zoko Markup (if applicable)

Where:

  • Meta Calling Charges = Total call minutes × Meta's applicable per-minute rate.
  • Zoko Markup = Additional call minutes × Your plan's markup rate (only after your included no-markup minutes are used).

Example: Calling Customers in India

Let's say you're on the Plus Plan, which includes 250 no-markup call minutes every month.

During your billing cycle, your team makes calls to customers in India, and the total call duration reaches 320 minutes.

Here's how your bill is calculated:

Meta charges: $0.0053 per minute for calls made to India.

For 320 minutes, your Meta charges would be:

320 × $0.0053 = $1.696

Zoko charges: Your Plus Plan includes the first 250 minutes with no Zoko markup.

Since you used 320 minutes, you've exceeded your included minutes by 70 minutes.

The Plus Plan markup is $0.0030 per minute.

70 × $ 0.0030 = $0.21

Total Charges

Charge Amount
Meta Calling Charges USD 1.696
Zoko Markup Charges USD 0.21
Total USD 1.906

Note: The example above uses India's calling rate ($0.0053 per minute). If your account is billed in USD, you can download the USD Rate Card. If you're billed in another currency, visit Meta's Calling Pricing page and download the rate card for your billing currency.

In this example:

  • You pay Meta's calling charges for the full 320 minutes.
  • You pay Zoko's markup only for the 70 minutes that exceeded your plan's included no-markup minutes.
