If your number is currently active on WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business and you want to move it to WhatsApp API, you must delete the existing account first. Deleting the account frees up the number, allowing it to be registered on WhatsApp API.

To do this:

1. Open the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app.

2. Go to Settings → Account → Delete My Account.

3. Enter your phone number in full international format (e.g., +91 9876543210).

4. Tap Delete My Account.

You will be asked for feedback on next step when you click this so you can skip it and delte the account. Once deleted, your number will be free to register on WhatsApp API.
